Count My Breaths is an application designed for pet owners who have a pet living with heart disease.

Heart disease in dogs is nearly as common as in humans. Although diet and exercise play a role, most cases are unavoidable. Heartworm disease, accounting for about 13% of all dogs with heart disease, is an exception. It is advised to take your dogs to the veterinarian for regular checkups at least once a year, and every 6 months for older dogs.

Rapid breathing while resting or sleeping (exceeding 30 breaths per minute) indicates heart disease or heart failure. The home breathing rate should be monitored at least once a day in all pets with heart disease or heart failure who are currently taking medications like furosemide and pimobendan.

This app is in its early stages of development, spurred by our first-hand experience with a pet facing this condition. We welcome feedback and feature requests as we work on expanding this application further.
